I made this table from Heart Pine. The posts and Beams are made from some old growth Pine. Hand planed and sanded lightly to soften the edges, makes this table look like old barn beams. The top is made from 1 1/4″ thick wood with breadboard ends and side skirts used for the top. The table is also available in 2 3/4″ thick wood with no frame. I make these in Walnut, Oak, Maple, Tiger Maple, Ash, Cherry and other available woods.
I made this bed for a customer in Massachusetts. The foot board is a solid wood panela and the posts are solid 3″ stock. It is mortise and tenoned together for strength. The side rails are 7″ x 1 3/4″ thick. The headboard is upholstered with 3″ thick foam and is finished on the back of bed. I designed this bed, and I also designed and made the Night Stands. The base is accented with Aluminum feet and cross apron. The Aluminum was painted Black on this set.
What I like about this desk, it can be either Early American with the raised panels or Classic Modern with Flat panels and a metal base. I have built only five of these desks. I cal it the “Charleston Desk”, after making it for an Interior Designer in Charleston, SC.
This one was made from lumber from a single tree. The boards were 18″ wide for the panels, so I didn’t have to glue up two bards to make the panels. It was made with dovetailed drawers and wooden drawer runners, just like a fine piece of furniture. The leather top was tooled with 24 Karat gold.
I have made several coffee tables from some reclaimed Oak I bought from my Mom and Dad. They are restoring an old Tobacco Barn in Tennessee and thought it would be nice to use some of the wood, well, at least what I can coax from my dad.
This is Oiled and left the Natural Color of the 100 year old Barn Wood.
Shaker Coffee Table with Ebony Base and Natural Hickory Top
I have been making quite a few coffee tables lately. I decided to add more because everyone can use a coffee table. The size of this one is 45″ x 30″ x 21″ Tall.
The extra height works well for most sofas. Not sure why coffee tables standard height is 18″, when a more comfortable height is even as tall as 24″ from floor. Easier to access, for magazines and drinks.
The Shaker Style coffee table has a Ebony Stained Hickory Base and a Natural oiled Hickory Top, (3 board top).
I made this bed just like my Pencil Post Bed with Straight legs and tapered on the top. This one is a little more contemporary with taper above and below the rails. The headboard is 24″ Tall, most headboards are 18″ wide. I make a wider headboard and rail position to fit 9″ to 16″ Mattress. It can be a boxspring and mattress or platform setup. I made this cupboard to be modern for todays place seatings. the shelves on the top are 16″ deep, enabling stack the largest plates. The hutch is made from Pine and stained a dark amber. The boards were all hand planed and all dadoed shelves and face frame are nailed on with square nails. People think this is an antique cupboard. I make this in Cherry, Walnut, Tiger Maple also.
Will be adding crackle paint and milk paint distressed and glazed.
This is the first Sugar Chest, I designed and handcrafted. I modeled it from several, exceptional antiques. The size is 27″ Wide x 36″Tall x 19″ Deep. This one is made from Solid Cherry, with Pine used for secondary wood. Stained with a Light Amber Stain and Hand rubbed finish, it looks and feels like an antique sugar chest. This really looks impressive in person.
I hadn’t seen a Sugar Chest, until, I moved to Tennessee. They really are a work of art. I do custom work so this one is available in Cherry, Oak, Walnut, Tiger Maple, Hickory etc. It cane ordered as is with tapered legs or hand turned (Sheraton Style) legs.
